In May,
2004 Independent Home Health Care received a prestigious award
as a "Quality Achiever" from the Virginia Association
of Home Care at a conference held in Lynchburg, VA. They were
presented this award for their participation in a VHQC (Virginia
Health Quality Center) quality initiative and accomplishment
of quality improvement goals. The criterion for being eligible
to receive the "Quality Achiever" certification
is:
1. Must already be a Quality Associate
(Independent Home Health Care has participated from the beginning
in a pilot program with VHQC and earned the Quality Associate
status over 1 year ago.)
2. The rate of the selected outcome
measure is statistically significant and in the top 5% of
the national reference group. (What that means is that each
home health agency is measured against a group of outcome
assessments with a national reference. The outcome that Independent
Home Health Care was working on exceeded that level and was
maintained to earn the status of "Quality Achiever,"
placing Independent Home Health Care in the top 5% of the
national reference group for that assessment)
3. The improved outcome rate is maintained
for a minimum of 6 months.
The administration and staff of Independent
Home Health Care are very pleased with this accomplishment,
especially when they were one of only four agencies in the
state of Virginia to receive this award. Working together
and improving the standard is what has made Independent Home
Health Care the successful company that it is today. Independent
Home Health Care has a primary mission of providing the highest
quality of home care possible to home health patients. They
are dedicated to the provision of home care based on the patient's
unique needs. Continuing to provide quality care and serving
the communities in which they live and serve is the underlying
goal of the Independent Home Health Care team. Serving the
community for 17 years reflects their commitment to the provision
of the highest standard of care, where "Caring Makes
the Difference."
Independent Home Health Care has four
office locations: Abingdon, Coeburn, Jonesville, Rosedale
and serves the following 9 counties and the City of Norton:
