A. IHHC is still a thriving business
today. In December 2003, Independent Home Health Care was
awarded the
Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval.
"In
becoming accredited, Independent Home Health Care was evaluated
against a set of national standards by a Joint Commission
surveyor experienced in the delivery of home care services,"
says Maryanne Popovich, R.N., M.P.H, executive director, Home
Care Accreditation Program, Joint Commission. "Achieving
accreditation demonstrates Independent Home Health Care's
commitment to providing high quality and safe care to its
patients."
B. Independent
Home Health Care now has 4 convenient office locations, with
the latest opening of
our Abingdon Office in January 2004. With this addition, Independent
Home Health Care can with ease better meet the demands and
requests within their service area.
That
service area consists of the following 9 counties:
Buchanan,
Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington,
Wise and the City of Norton
C. Independent Home Health Care has
recently completed a Course of training in Chemo Therapy and
is now ready and very competent to administer certain chemo
therapy drugs at home. Because of a need, IHHC decided to
bridge a gap between chemo patients who weren't able to leave
their home to go for their prescribed chemo treatments and
the chemo doctors and the centers they use. IHHC found that
there were patients who were not ready for hospice care, either,
but their trips to and from chemo treatments were a big ordeal
for them and very taxing for their bodies as well.
